for large pot
- 1 large Beef bone
- 1/2 medium Cabbage
- 1 bunch Kale
- 2 Leek
- 1 Onion
- 1 Celery (stalks)
- (optional – NOT for keto) 3 carrots
- (optional – NOT for keto) 1 parsnip
- 3 Garlic cloves
- 1/4 medium Ginger root
- 2 Turmeric root (or 2 Tbs powder)
- 1-2 tsp Chilli flakes
- 2 tsp Black Pepper
- 1 tsp Himalayan Salt
- Soy sauce to taste (make sure is gluten free and GMO free, like this one)
Place the beef bone in a pot and cover completely with filtered water
Bring to boil and then reduce the heat to very low and cook for a few hours. Bone broth is more nutritious longer is cooked. I cooked mine for a whole day before I added veggies.
My bone was covered in a bit of fat, which was easily separated from the bone after a day of cooking. I took the fat off the bone next morning and also took some fat off the broth. Some people have a problem with fat digestion, but they can still benefit from a bone broth. They can put the broth to the fridge for a few hours and then take off the fat that has collected on the top of the broth.
Wash and roughly chop the veggies. Add to bone broth and cook on a low heat for another few hours.
Take the bone out. Add spices and its ready.
I serve my bone broth together with veggies and add few drops of soy sauce to it. It is truly delicious and super healing food.
The longer you can slow cook your broth is better. Therefore I recommend to cook a huge pot of it over the weekend. You can store it in a fridge good few days and enjoy the whole week.
